Song of Ancient and Unique Decisions
This special couple lived up in the heavens
Oxherd and Weaver Girl are stars in the sky.
They are lifetime lovers, unlike some blooming branches
Can see and meet each other only on the seventh day of the seventh month.
Their hearts and minds will never wander or change.
Not able to fly out or in at dawns or sunsets
Do flowers blow away to north-south-east and west?
Separated, these blooms unable to meet up again
These two stars think of each other fondly.
Flowers realize and accept their separate existence
In the spring breezes, the shrikes communicate in a chaos of sounds.
They go on regardless of the season
Both of these stars hold hands, cry out to each other, asking if everything has been okay
She is emotionally ready for him to leave
Her plan though is to have both of them remain together.
Only till death do they have to leave each other
Their fates are to suffer and endure these separation sorrows!
