Peach Tree Village

After these years, my small worn footpath to the main house is no longer straight
Five peach trees force me to walk around them.
Taller by autumn, they make a tangible gift to this poor person
In the coming years I can relax with eyes full of flowers.

Curtained windows and doors suitable for the newborn swallows
All of my children attack mother crows, not sympathetic to their plight.
Today there is no more stealing from the army widows
Down here on earth, each household now united and following the governmental edicts.

Commentary:

Attack mother crows: Chinese in general hold a low regard for crows. They represent bad omens, as well as making loud and dissonant sounds. In their old age, mother crows are often fed by their children.
